Website Development
I decided as part of the style of my website I would like to have photos and images linked to Camera Movement, e.g. photos of equipment used to get Camera Movement, photos of Camera Movement being filmed. I was pleased with the photos I found and put on my website, some as part of headings and some in a gallery of photos. I decided that as I develop my website, I want to try to use photos that are relevant and appropriate to the specific heading in the banner, e.g. for Pre-production I could see if I can find an image of a Storyboard that includes reference to the camera movement in the shots drawn.
I need to put more on my website. I am making a lot of progress on my FMP but I need to get it written up and develop my website more. I love the creative process and seeing everything coming together in my mind, but maybe it's because of my dyslexia that I prefer planning in my mind rather than getting it down in words because I find it hard to get started. I have to work very hard to get it all out of my mind and into words. When I do get it into words then I want it to be very good, so I put a lot of effort into it, and I go over it a lot until I am happy with it. But I can see logically that because it is a necessary skill, I need to get quicker at it. Having spent some time thinking about it this week, I have come to the conclusion that I need to find a way to get quicker at it. I'm not sure how to yet, so I will spend some time thinking about it more and trying to come up with some ideas that could work for me.
Research
Regarding finding 1) clips with Camera Movement in, and 2) behind the scenes footage of Camera Movement, to use in my video, I have found that this area of research is also taking longer than I had anticipated because there is a lot of potential footage to look through, because it can be whole films and DVDs rather than YouTube clips. I had thought that setting side a whole day for each of these 2 areas would be plenty of time, but I have found that it isn't. I am glad that I included in most weekends some catch-up time, since having reviewed my progress in this particular area against my time plan I think I am going to need catch-up time for these 2 areas of research for content in particular. Also, it is a bit of a "chicken and egg" situation, since as I find different possible clips, they give me ideas for my script that I am currently writing, but then I have an idea for my script and want to find a clip to illustrate it. As with all research, I think it will be an on-going task. But I am glad I took time to think through my research earlier in the week and I am still glad that I ear-marked days to focus on certain types of research because it means that I have a date to start that piece of research, at least some of it, even if it needs, by its nature, to be on-going. Had I not ear-marked dates in my daily plan, it would be easy to not start the research early enough to have the time for it to be on-going, I could just keep on going on the same research. So, both my Daily Schedule and the time I spent analysing my research process are both helping.
Overall Reflection and Evaluation
Despite more challenges with my research, i.e. realising that finding movement in Films and Behind the Scenes footage was going to take even longer than I anticipated, and hence be particular challenges, I kept calm, which was great.
I realised that I need to develop a way to get more things out of my head quickly and good enough that I feel happy putting them on my website. I need to find ways that will work for me and not just make me feel more anxious. I believe that if I use the analysis skills that I have been practising then I will be able to find some ideas to try.
My Key Learning: Ideas in my head are great and are a very good first step, however I also need to find a way that works for me of getting those ideas out of my head more quickly and efficiently and into words, because I need to be able to share them with other people.
